Discovering peace indicates that you are in harmony with God’s plan. Conversely, feeling tense may suggest you are not on the right track. However, tension can signal that you are indeed on the correct path, but the devil is trying to discourage you. How do you differentiate between these two scenarios? The solution is prayer.
Remember that some doors are not meant for you, and that’s okay. Sometimes, a closed door can be an opportunity to discover a new path you might have never considered otherwise. Sometimes, disappointment can be a hidden blessing. As a phoenix emerges from the ashes of pain, you must fully overcome life’s obstacles to embrace God’s promises fully. I am feeling thankful for the door that refused to open. It made me realize that sometimes when the wrong door opens, it can lead to a different and perhaps unfavorable outcome. It’s a reminder to trust in the timing and path that God has set for us.
I once bravely attempted to enter a closed-off room, hoping to offer my assistance to those inside. Despite my confidence in my abilities, my request was met with rejection. It was clear that gaining access to this exclusive group was something I desired more than anything else, even God’s approval. Looking back, I realize that God wanted me to prioritize seeking His approval above all else. This rejection was a humbling experience, as I had never faced doubt before. In retrospect, I see that my passion for inclusion can be channeled more positively.
There are moments when we struggle to understand why difficult things happen in our lives. During those times, I recall praying, “Dear Lord, why did this happen to me? I don’t deserve this.” However, I have learned that sometimes the people who cause us pain can be instruments God uses to guide us toward our destiny and purpose. Once I let go of my anger and accepted that I could not change others or their intentions, I began approaching things with humility, forgiveness, and grace. This reminded me of how Jesus forgave Judas, even as he died on the cross. In Luke 23:24, Jesus asked God to forgive those crucifying him, stating that they didn’t understand what they were doing. I also thought of how David respected and honored King Saul, despite Saul’s attempts to harm him. Ultimately, I realized I needed to move forward and trust that this was not God’s will for my life.
Matthew 10:13-14 says to leave peace upon a deserving home, and if not, let your peace return to you. If someone rejects you or refuses to listen, move on and shake off the dust. Don’t dwell on rejection; keep pushing forward toward your purpose.
It’s essential to remember that growth often happens in challenging environments. So, even if you feel disappointed, do not give up on your place of worship. Instead, concentrate on fulfilling your purpose there and continue working towards your goals. Although ideal circumstances would be exceptional, let’s focus on the present moment. Paul’s words about remaining in the place God has called you are powerful. “Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them. Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you - although if you can gain your freedom, do so. For the one who was a slave when called to faith in the Lord is the Lord’s freed person; similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings. Brothers and sisters, each person, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation they were in when God called them.” (1 Corinthians 7:20-24) Everything works together for the good when we are called according to His purpose. If you know you are called according to His purpose, you can trust that God sees and knows what is happening. Trust in Him through challenging situations, and something beautiful may emerge.
Trusting in God’s plan and staying where He has called you can be challenging, but it’s a sign of spiritual maturity and obedience. As you draw closer to God, you’ll realize that His purpose is more significant than your own desires. Even when you don’t comprehend His will fully, following it is a mark of spiritual growth. So, wait patiently for God’s guidance and watch in awe as He works wonders in your life. “Now then, stand still and see this great thing the LORD is about to do before your eyes!” (I. Samuel 12:16)
In life, challenges may arise, but you have the power to rise above them and embrace all that God has promised. Even in difficult situations, something beautiful can emerge. Like how a lump of coal can transform into a stunning diamond with enough heat and pressure, the most challenging circumstances can lead to beautiful outcomes.
“And provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD to display his splendor.”
(Isaiah 61:3)
