I absolutely love October in Florida. The weather is beautiful - a welcome break from the scorching summer heat. It’s the ideal time for evening strolls along the beach or through the neighborhood. I often take walks to reflect and ponder. October is a great time for introspection as we near the end of the year. Have I achieved the goals I set out to accomplish at the start of the year? Have I made a positive impact? So many questions come to mind during this time of the year.
Each year presents fresh opportunities and challenges. If I had the pen in my hand while writing Chapter 2023, I would have written a beautiful story without many challenges or obstacles. Maybe I would have even won the lottery. Maybe not; Christians are not supposed to play the lottery. Or at least, that is what I have been taught. Or better yet, I would have traveled the world, and someone would have given me a large sum of cash. Just kidding, but if you are a fiction writer, your mind can create any life story. The reality is. The pen is not in my hand; God is writing my story. He presents opportunities, choices, and events, and how I write the story comes in terms of how I respond to what life presents.
As we journey through life, we realize that shoes are essential. However, one shoe size doesn’t fit all individuals. Different scenarios will come our way, and we must learn to adapt, alter, and pivot to achieve positive and successful results.
“The Lord orders the steps of a good man: and he delighteth in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” (Psalm 37:23-24)
Sometimes, we should pray more and talk less. Situations can become more complicated when we try to handle them on our own instead of waiting on God to resolve issues or matters. We cannot resolve spiritual problems with our carnal nature. Pray.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
There are some situations that I would love to erase, change, correct or fix. Today, God reminds me just as He told the Prophet Jeremiah that there is absolutely nothing too hard for God to resolve.
Trust God and allow Him to lead.
