Today, I paused to look back over my journey, and gratitude rose up in me like a wave. Scripture reminds us that “the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way” (Psalm 37:23). That means every step—every pause, push, detour, and decision—has been divinely aligned. God Himself has been guiding, steadying, and strengthening the path beneath my feet.
This morning, I felt especially thankful for the decisions I made yesterday—choices covered in prayer and influenced by the only One who is truly all-knowing. God alone sees the end from the beginning. His wisdom is trustworthy even when we can’t fully see the road ahead.
As I reflected, my spirit drifted to Charles Albert Tindley’s timeless hymn, “We’ll Understand It Better By and By.”
The lyrics carried a fresh weight today:
“He’ll guide us with His eye, and we’ll follow till we die…”
“When the morning comes… we’ll tell the story how we’ve overcome…”
These words remind me that God’s guidance is not accidental—it’s intentional, personal, and always leading us toward victory.
Then Proverbs whispered again to my heart:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
I leaned in. I trusted Him. And now, standing on the other side of those decisions, all I can say is—I’m grateful. I can see His fingerprints all over my story. Thank You, Lord.
II Corinthians 5:7 reminds us plainly:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Faith has carried me further than my understanding ever could.
And with that in mind, my heart returns to one of the great gospel anthems of the Church—
“We’ve Come This Far By Faith” by Albert A. Goodson.
Its declaration remains powerful and true:
“We’ve come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord…
Trusting in His holy Word—He’s never failed us yet.”
Today, that’s not just a song. It’s my testimony.
